Savouring Hemp Bread
Have you noticed that hemp is the star of our spring menu? We’re so excited about incorporating it into our menu because of all the sustainability benefits. When it comes to taste, our hemp bread really delivers.
Delicious and nutritious
On top of hemp being sustainable, it’s a nutrient-rich powerhouse. Hemp seeds are a treasure trove of vitamins (B and E) and minerals as magnesium, potassium, iron, zinc and phosphorus. They contain over 60% of soluble fibre and protein essential for gut health. We mix hemp flour with our sourdough for a distinctive springtime flavour of hazelnuts and pine nuts, with a hint of rosemary. Our hemp bread is also rich in plant-based protein and omega-3s.
“Who knew that doing good could taste great, too?
Tastes like goodness
If you’re keen to try our hemp bread, we recommend ordering the hemp egg mimosa tartine next time you visit us. A standout dish from our spring menu, it’s a springtime medley of eggs mimosa, furikake, leek sprouts, and lemons on top of crisp slices of hemp bread.
You can also pick up a loaf of hemp bread from your local Le Pain Quotidien. We suggest enjoying it thinly sliced and toasted, with fresh fish and roasted veg, or with a simple herby spread.
(It’s also worth mentioning that hemp has less than 0.3% THC so there are no intoxicating or mood-altering effects!)
